Comment: Our first sighting of the Sabyinyo group is the silverback Guhonda with Isheja Big Ben and his mother, Gukunda.
12SabyinyoGroup - 19 * Local farmers take turns as porters. They carry our belongings allowing us to slip in the mud and fall with hardly a concern.

12SabyinyoGroup - 21 * The gorillas have been on the move, eating as they go. Our trail is often improvised as is this steep hillside ascent through stinging nettles. Long sleeves, rain pants and gloves really helped.

12SabyinyoGroup - 29 * Guhonda is the largest silverback of the 8 groups habituated to humans. He is over 30 years old with a life expectancy into his mid-40s.
